Things to do this Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend
With the Jubilee bank holiday only days away, you may be wondering what to do with your long weekend. Another obstacle to overcome is trying to plan around the unpredictable British weather which as we know is far from easy.
Here at Mercedes-Benz South West, we thought we would help you out by sharing some of our favourite bank holiday weekend ideas so you get the most out of your bank holiday weekend, whatever the weather.
Have a street party
Celebrate the Queens Jubilee this bank holiday by gathering your neighbours for a street party! This is a perfect way to plan activities for all ages, from jubilee-themed crafts to quizzes.
Have everyone bring a plate of food, their own chair and game to share. An excellent excuse to reconnect with neighbours after various lockdowns.
Book a last-minute break
We are fortunate that we have many excellent staycation holidays in the South West with lots to do. Head down to St. Ives and explore the beautiful beaches or travel to North Devon and discover Exmoor national park.
The list of beautiful places to visit in the South West is genuinely never-ending, so get creative and visit somewhere you haven’t before!
Get outdoors
The Met Office has predicted great weather for the majority of the weekend giving us the perfect opportunity to get out into the fresh air. You can keep it relaxing with a short beach walk or make it a tougher by climbing hilly woodland. For more the family together for a scenic bike ride along the Camel Trail or along the Exe Estuary Cycle Trail.
Visit local attractions
Perfect for keeping the whole family busy. We are fortunate that we have a large variety of attractions in the South West such as many zoos and theme parks like Crealy and Dingles Fairground Heritage centre. Or perhaps you want to take your family down memory lane with Flambards and the world of country life.
Alternatively, you can visit local campsites for the day and use their facilities or head to your nearest bowling alley or cinema.
Spend time in your garden
With the weather expected to be nice during the weekend, spending it in your garden is a solid idea. Relax in the sun, devote time to creating an outdoor sanctuary ready for the summer, or have a garden party to show off your new garden to your friends.
