Summer Festivals in the South West
Summer has long been known as Festival Season across the nation, and the South West is no exception. The summer festivals across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset extend far beyond Worthy Farm! We’ve rounded up the best of the West (Country), with music, arts, family-friendlies and fireworks, there is undeniably something for everyone to enjoy over the warmer months.
Cornwall festivals
Boardmasters, 7 – 11 August
The Newquay festival returns with a killer line up of international artists, surf league competitions and yoga, all set upon the dramatic backdrop of the Cornish coastline.
Falmouth Week, 9 - 18 August
This sailing regatta dates all the way back to 1837, and has evolved beyond the seas to a range of on-shore activities which showcase the best that Falmouth has to offer.
Somerset festivals
Fake Festival Taunton, 27 July
A banging evening of the best “fake” bands in the business. Including Oasish, Really Hot Chili Peppers and Steretonics.
Mid-Somerset Show, 11 August
The only one day agricultural show in the South West with free entry for pedestrians. A fantastic family day out with something for everyone from dog shows and cheese tasting to livestock displays and crafts stalls.
West Devon festivals
Plymouth Firework championships, 14 - 15 August
Each year Plymouth Hoe plays host to an incredible display of fireworks from the best in the business. An unmissable event, guaranteed to go off with a bang!
Kingsbridge Show, 7 September
2024 marks 70 years at Borough Farm, which will play a big part in this year's celebrations. Kingsbridge Show returns for another fun-filled day out for all ages.
East Devon festivals
Budleigh Music Festival, 28 June – 7 July
This programme of classical music, including free lunchtime concerts, brings together classical musicians of all kinds to the Jurassic Coast.
Beautiful Days, 16 – 18 August
Well known as being one of the best family festivals in the country, this folk-rock institution returns for a 16th year.
