Reviewed: Our first ever Open-Air Cinema
On Saturday 21st September, Mercedes-Benz of Exeter held their first ever open air cinema event showcasing The Greatest Showman in partnership with Guide Dogs South West. Gates opened at 6:30pm as the sun set over the Exeter showroom with not a breeze in the sky. The crowds came out armed with deckchairs, throws and flasks to watch P.T Barnum light up the stage once again.
The Guide Dogs spoilt us with two of their furry friends to welcome visitors as they piled in to watch the greatest show around. If you thought two fury friends wasn’t enough they were even offering visitors the chance to own their own fury mascot!
Meat59 joined us and made certain that nobody went hungry as they handed out free popcorn throughout the show. Not to mention their famously juicy burgers and tangy sweets on offer to keep us going. Courtney’s were on hand to provide us with a delicious choice of beverages to soak up those succulent burgers. ‘Ladies and gents, this is the one that you’ve waited for’ roared out of the speakers as the elevated screen lit up. Technical difficulties caused a short interruption, but as P.T Barnum once said “The show must go on” and sure enough it did in spectacular fashion! The infectious songs made it hard to resist jumping out of our seats and belting every word, but all good things must come to an end. As the curtains drew to a close it’s almost certain many were in agreement with Charity Barnum thinking “I wish for happiness like this forever”. A massive thank you must be extended to Skylight Cinema for making sure that the day went smoothly alongside Guide Dogs South West, Meat59 and Courtney’s. There will be an update soon as to how much money was raised for Guide Dogs UK, so watch this space! Sign up to our newsletter to be among the first to hear about our upcoming events.
