Due to demand over the past 18 months, Mercedes-Benz South West is expanding its
Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Centre located in Estover, Plymouth. We are acquiring the distribution centre currently used by DPD to fulfil the expansion plans.
Following the three UK lockdowns over the past year, the need for vans has grown due to the popularity of online retail and the requirement for more courier and delivery services across the region. Due to this demand Mercedes-Benz South West has seen visit numbers to our
after sales divisions increase by 18% compared to last year and 22% in 2019. We are preparing to accommodate the growing demand from those looking to keep their
Mercedes-Benz van safe and maintained following the boost in van sales. The expansion will also include further facilities for staff including a new communal area.
The growth of Mercedes-Benz South West’s LCV business in Plymouth also brings many new
job opportunities to the area with recruitment underway for the site and two new Service Team Manager positions already filled. Vacancies actively being hired for include LCV Technician roles and an office based position to be advertised in the near future. We have always believed it is important to support those in the early stages of their careers too and are also recruiting for an LCV apprentice to join the team and help shape the future of the business.
Lee Nash, After Sales Director at Mercedes-Benz South West comments:
“It’s an exciting time for our LCV Centre in Plymouth. Due to the growth of our key accounts we have simply outgrown our current site. We are really proud of the support we have been able to offer our customers since the pandemic began. It’s great that as a result we have adapted and thrived and are now able to offer more support and opportunities for the local area and wider region.”
