All trim levels get 16 inch alloy wheels, but opt for the top of the range SELECT and you can have metallic paint work, plus LED headlamps and fog lamps.

Performance

The eCitan delivers smooth and refined performance with its 122 hp electric motor. It offers a comfortable ride and agile handling, making it suitable for city driving. The instant torque from the motor ensures quick acceleration, even when the van is loaded.

Range and Charging

The eCitan is equipped with a 45 kWh battery and has an official WLTP range of up to 176 miles on a full charge. It supports rapid DC charging, allowing the battery to reach 80% charge in just 38 minutes. The van also features AC charging up to 22 kW (3-phase) so you’ll also be able to use home wall boxes, public charging and household sockets if needs be.

The charging port is located on the front grille, behind the Mercedes star in the centre.

Connectivity and Technology

The eCitan is equipped with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system, which includes navigation, voice control, and smartphone integration. You also get active brake assist, active lane keeping assist, traffic sign assist and attention assist as standard, enhancing safety.

There’s lots of comfort features on offer so you can customise your van with the features that you actually want, whether that’s Keyless-Go, revering camera, rear parking aid, seat heating, cruise control, or lumbar support. There’s also various packages such as the Light Package and Winter Package.

Space and Practicality

The eCitan offers a cargo volume of between 2.9 and 3.62 cubic meters, depending on the body length. The L2 model can accommodate two Euro pallets, so despite its compact size, the van provides ample space for various business needs.

Pricing

The Mercedes-Benz eCitan is available in the UK with a starting price of £32,700.

Verdict

The Mercedes-Benz eCitan is a strong contender in the small electric van market. It combines the agility and compact size of the Citan with the benefits of electric power, making it ideal for businesses that work in the city. While it may be more expensive than some rivals, its premium features, strong performance, and advanced technology make it a worthwhile investment.
