Introducing the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE, the first performance hybrid from AMG and as you’d expect it doesn’t disappoint. In fact, it’s pretty mind-blowing, both visually and when you learn of its performance capabilities. This is Mercedes-AMG carving a path into the electrified future.

AMG performance
Even the best can still be optimised. In the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE, the combination of the 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine and the electric motor complement one another to produce a whopping 843hp, resulting in the hybrid reaching 62 mph from a standing start in just 2.9 seconds. A high-performance battery developed by AMG and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system also come as part of the Hybrid, increasing the maximum torque and as a result producing enormous acceleration abilities. Immense power and acceleration isn’t the only benefit of the hybrid blend though. The mixture of the 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine and the electric motor ensures superior driving performance and outstanding driving dynamics with impressive efficiency at the same time.
Extensive equipment
If you want exceptional performance, you must tread exceptional paths. This ultra-light lithium-ion battery has been developed jointly with high performance powertrains, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 engine builder. Experience and enjoy the AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension that adjusts the damping force for each wheel to suit the current driving situation in a matter of milliseconds. A variety of AMG DYNAMIC Select drive programmes are also available to choose including Sport+ for more dynamic driving and Comfort for smooth gliding. Looking for a more agile drive? You can control the integrated AMG DYNAMICS driving control system which manages the ESP (Electronic Stability Program), the all-wheel drive and the electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential. These settings can be modified by you to increase the agility of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE without negatively affecting the vehicles stability.
AMG sound
Some of you may be wondering, but if this AMG is a hybrid, will there still be the iconic AMG roar? Of course, you can’t ever see an AMG without hearing it first! The new acoustics of the Performance-Hybrid make it immediately recognisable as an AMG under any conditions.
You can toggle the sound experience between ‘balanced’ and ‘powerful’ using the sound buttons in the central console or on the steering wheel (identified by the frequency wave symbol): In the case of a purely electric journey, it is possible to stage either a subtle or powerful sound experience. If the combustion engine kicks in, the selected setting influences the flap-controlled exhaust system.
Exterior
An AMG GT at first glance – a hybrid at the second. The expressive design with its deep-set bonnet, muscular body, crouched, dynamic greenhouse and powerful fastback clearly elucidates the sporty genes of Mercedes-AMG GT4. An exclusive distinguishing characteristic of the new drive technology is the rear apron with integrated plug-in charging cable flap and the model name rendered in red. The ‘E-PERFORMANCE’ wing-badge on the side of the vehicle alludes to the hybrid motor.
Customisation
The interior features a whole range of personalisation options for you to choose from. Exclusive colours can be selected to emphasise either the sporty or luxurious side of the new ultimate high-performance four-door. Along with the widescreen cockpit with MBUX multimedia system and AMG-hybrid-specific display and features, the striking new additions also include the twin-spoke version of the AMG Performance steering wheel with round AMG steering-wheel buttons. These impress with their shining display and faultless operating logic. What’s more, important driving features and all the driving programmes can be controlled from here, and it is now also possible to select the recuperation levels of the hybrid motor.
