Meet the Team: Peter Rees, Group Admin/ Retail Stock Manager
In our latest edition of Meet the Team we got to know our Group Admin/Retail Stock Manager, Peter Rees. Peter is based at our head office in Exeter and is responsible for managing the stock levels across our four dealerships across the South West to make sure that we have a the very best in our range available for our customers.
Tell us a little bit about yourself Peter...
I've lived in Devon for most of my life and have been married for 16 years, to my wife Nicky. I have one son from my previous marriage who is now 25 and living with his girlfriend in West Sussex. I try and keep fit in my spare time, enjoy healthy food, cooking, travelling, spending time with family friends, and enhancing our home. However, most importantly, I am an Arsenal supporter!
Where are you from? I was born in Exeter
How long have you been working at Mercedes-Benz South West? I started in June 2002, 18 Years.
Favourite Mercedes-Benz model? (old or new) S Class – it keeps getting better with every new generation.
Most memorable day at work you’ve ever had? 1st day I started, a new career for me, since then there has been many.
Have you always been in the motor trade? No, I qualified as a mechanical production engineer and started my working life as a technical sales rep in the plastics industry. From there I progressed to become their commercial manager and finished off as the production manager.
Favourite part of the job? Working alongside with my colleagues to reach a common goal
Do you have any pets? I love both cats & dogs, but do not have any due to both my wife & I working full time and the love of travelling. Maybe one day!
Best holiday you’ve ever been on? Antarctica – it’s difficult to put into words what you feel when you wake up for the 1st time surrounded by icebergs – truly awe inspiring.
How many attempts did it take you to pass your driving test? One.
Which radio station are you listening to when you drive? Radio 5 live.
Favourite place to visit in the South West? Polzeath in Cornwall.
Favourite Film? All Quentin Tarantino films.
Favourite Band/Artist? I like all music, would depend on the mood I’m in, but Nirvana rates up there!
First concert you ever went to? Bad Manners 400 club in Torquay.
Tipple of choice? Gin & Tonic.
If the world ends tomorrow, what would you choose as your last meal? Fillet Steak.
What’s at the top of your bucket list? Take a trip on the Belmond Andean Explorer train visiting Cuzco, Machu Picchu, and Lake Titicaca in Peru.
What are you most looking forward to this year? Getting together with my son and spending quality time. The completion of our home renovations!
