Meet the Team: Ben Ford, Used Car Sales Manager

This month’s Meet the Team installment takes us to Exeter to meet their Used Car Sales Manager, Ben Ford. Ben's background was in quad bikes - driving and selling - before joining Mercedes-Benz South West in 2013. We find out what he enjoys doing on his days off and the song you'll hear him singing when the karaoke machine is out!
Where are you from?
Stokeinteignhead.
How long have you been working at Mercedes-Benz South West?
10.5 years in total…. However there was a three month stint at Porsche somewhere in here. We’ll put that down to character building!
Favourite Mercedes-Benz model? (old or new)
Has to be the Mercedes-AMG G63. My 7 year old son looks on Autotrader each morning, finds his perfect G63 and says we must buy it! Unfortunately he is too used to Monopoly money.
Most memorable day at work? Selling my first car back in December 2013.
I remember being so excited selling a 58 plate Mercedes-Benz SLK.
Favourite part of the job?
Every day is different and brings in several challenges and rewards. Ultimately, I enjoy the diversity of the role and the people we deal with. Be it colleagues or customers.
What’s your favourite animal?
Dog – man’s best friend for sure.
Where is your favourite place to visit in the South West?
I love Saunton Sands beach, Bellever Forest or on top of Haytor.
What’s your go-to song or radio station to listen to in the car?
I alternate between Talksport and Capital Xtra Reloaded.
How many attempts did it take you to pass your driving test?
First time!

True Lies or Blues Brothers
What’s at the top of your bucket list?
Tough one…. My family and I are on our 3rd house project now so I guess financially I’d like to be mortgage free…. One day!!! Experiences - I’d like to sit on a beach in the Maldives with a Pina Colada.

What are you most looking forward to?
Going on our first family holiday abroad in August. I’m excited to play beach football on a golden sands beach.
