Meet the Team: Alastair Mills - Head of Used

Today we are meeting our Head of Used: Alastair Mills. We're finding out about his career in the motor industry spanning a quarter of a century, his favourite animal, and his tipple of choice.

How long have you been working at City West Country?

Since 28th June 2016 at 8.30am.

Where are you from?

Originally Southend-on-Sea. I have moved around, but settled in Exmouth for the second time in 1996.

Have you always been in the motor trade?

No. I studied at Polytechnic to become a Civil Engineer before falling into the Insurance and Corporate Finance Sector before I had the joys of joining the ‘Motor Profession’.

Favourite part of the job?

The staff and the achievements we accomplish together.

What's your favourite animal? Do you have any pets?

I have a chocolate Labrador cross Collie rescue dog but favourite animal must be the Honey Badger.

Best holiday you’ve ever been on?

All expenses paid holiday with the wife to New York, staying on 5th Avenue next to the Empire State.

How many attempts did it take you to pass your driving test?

One.

What radio station are you listening to when you drive?

Absolute.

Favourite place to visit in the South West?

North Devon Coastline.

Favourite film?

Die Hard (yes it is a Christmas film).

Tipple of choice?

St Austell Brewery - A Pint of Proper Job.

What would be your karaoke song?

Any instrumental tune.

What was the first concert you ever went to? 

The Cult 1986.

If the world ends tomorrow, what would you choose as your last meal?

Ostrich Steak with a selection of seasoned veg.

What's at the top of your bucket list?

Antarctica.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

The sunshine and the end of the rain.
