Easter Events In The South West 2025

24 Mar 2025

Easter is on the horizon and we want to get you and your families outdoors and experiencing new adventures together. To help you plan your half term, we have put together our pick of egg-citing activities around the South West for some quality time with your family.

Cornwall

Newquay Golden Rocks Hunt – 18th – 21st April 2025

We know you’ve all heard of an Ester Egg hunt, but have you ever hunted for golden rocks?

For one weekend only, there will be 50 golden rocks hidden around Newquay, and once they’re handed in to the tourist information centre on Marcus Hill, TR7 1BD, they’ll be exchanged for an Easter gift!

This starts on Friday 18th April and ends on Monday 21st April at 4pm, so if you’re around that weekend, make sure you take the kids for a fun day of adventure.

Please note that the prizes are only for children aged 12 or under.

Easter at the Eden Project – 5th – 20th April 2025

There will be lots of special activities over Easter at The Eden Project. You can head on a big egg hunt, where they’ve hidden some big and small eggs, all over the gardens. And they’ve not revealed how many there are so you could be in with a real chance of finding some!

Walk along the Nature Trail in order to collect some stamps to win a sweet treat. Plus you’ll be in with a chance of winning an Easter hamper.

On the 9th and 16th April, they’ll be holding Mediterranean Biome suppers between 6pm and 9pm, which would be perfect for an al fresco style Easter celebration. Between two and six people must attend and you have to pre-book. It costs £45 per adult and £25 for under 16s.

Fenton Bebibell Dolly Dunking – 18th April 2025

Fenton Bebibell, also spelled as Venton Bebibell, translates to ‘well of the little people’. According to Hamilton Jenkin, a Cornish historian, Fenton Bebibell was used by local children to baptise their dollies on Good Friday.

So the practise of Dolly Dunking is to literally dip toys in a water spring. It’s an ancient custom but has wonderfully been revived by CASPN, the Cornish Ancient Sites Protection Network. They make sure to clean the water before any toys are dunked, and they share hot cross buns beforehand.

It’s something different to do and all ages of children are welcome so if you fancy a more ancient Easter activity to take part in this year, go Dolly Dunking! It’ll take place on Friday 18th April and you’ll need to meet a the Men-an-Tol lay-by* at 11am where you’ll walk to the well together as a group.

Tulip Fest at Strawberry Fields – 5th – 21st April 2025

Devon is welcoming a little bit of Holland this year with Tulip Fest 2025. Last November, 250,000 bulbs were carefully planted and separated into different colours and varieties. You can expect to walk through three acres of tulips so there will be room for everyone.

Plus they’ll have walk around entertainment and homemade treats like doughnuts, ice cream, and pizza to keep you going on your visit. Ride around Strawberry Fields on a barrel train, meet farm animals, toast marshmallows and enjoy a drink at the Tulip Bar.

Plus, you can create and take home a bouquet of Tulips. This all sounds lush, right?
If you’re looking for the perfect photo op or just want a nice day out looking at flowers, this event will be a must visit.

Make sure to book beforehand, and depending on the date you choose to go, tickets cost £8.95 or £9.95.
