Treat your Air Con to an Antibacterial Deep Clean
When we think of the air conditioning, we're primarily thinking about keeping ourselves and our vehicles cool in the heat of summer. What we don't consider is the need to service our air conditioning systems. With the longer, warmer days finally here, it's time for your annual air con check up, to keep your cabin cool and your health in check.
Why do we need to service our air con?
The inside of a vehicle is the perfect habitat for bacteria, mould, viruses and germs. In addition to the moisture and dirt present in our cars, the narrow spaces between the cooling fins of the evaporators and pollen filter provide an ideal breeding ground for the above. Bacteria is prone to taking shape during the winter months, before building up as we enter the warm period of spring. This means that by the time we switch our air con on, all the bacteria that's been growing for months is immediately released into our cabins.
As a result, depending on the weather, driving style and use of the air conditioning system, the health of drivers and passengers inside the vehicle can be adversely affected within a short period of time. The general cleanliness can also be affected, with bad odours being the most common offender.
To combat the fungi and bacteria and ensure healthier passengers and more efficiently-running air con, it's recommended to treat your air conditioning system to an Antibacterial Deep Clean.
How does the antibacterial deep clean work?
Our Mercedes-Benz specialist technicians will carry out your Antibacterial Deep Clean. To remove all the contamination inside your vehicle we recommend an air conditioning antibacterial deep clean two part service. The first part of the service involves replacing your existing pollen filter housing, then a deep decontamination clean of the evaporator is carried out.
The second part of the service involves sanitisation of the pollen filter housing and the neighbouring air ducts will be sprayed intensely for a thorough deep clean. The evaporators in your air conditioning system are also sanitised with a powerful pressure spray gun to ensure rapid removal of any contamination and deposits within the system.
