Mercedes-Benz at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2019
Car giants from across the world gathered for the Frankfurt International Motor Show this month. The show features the latest product releases from manufacturers, and Mercedes-Benz had a host of exciting announcements. Mercedes-Benz has committed to providing a fully electrified product range by 2022. With a focus on the future, they announced their latest products as the next step on this journey.
A-Class 250e Plug-In Hybrid
The A-Class plug in hybrid is the first available in Mercedes-Benz compact class. Offering a 70 km fully electric range from a 15.6 kw battery with a 75kw electric motor, plus A 1.3 litre petrol engine with 156 bhp for those longer journeys. This model will be an exciting first step on the road to electric drive for customers.
Exciting updates for SUVs
There were also exciting announcements for Mercedes-Benz’s SUV segment. The GLC is receiving the hybrid treatment with a 300e petrol hybrid. The formidable and ever-popular GLE is also taking the leap with a 350de diesel hybrid announced in Frankfurt. Alongside this the GLE Coupe was also unveiled, as well as a Mercedes-AMG variant. smart EQ fortwo & forfour facelift
The smart range has gone fully electric from August 2019. The brand announced facelift updates to the popular city car, which will be released in 2020. Visit our smart South West website to learn more about the smart EQ range.
The New EQV
An all-electric vehicle for up to 8 passengers, the EQV is the first to use electric innovation in a multi-purpose vehicle. As well as cutting-edge electric drive technology, the EQV also boasts state-of-the-art MBUX technology. Read our product profile of the new EQV.
The EQS Vision Concept
The highlight of the show for Mercedes-Benz was the EQS Vision Concept. Combining electric technology, with a luxury sedan, the EQS Concept realises Mercedes-Benz’s vision for the future. Along with a new EV platform, the EQS also aspires to feature part-autonomous drive. The EQS will mark the peak of the Mercedes-Benz EQ brand.
